MAINSTREET STOREFRONT

This four building mixed use complex had been abandoned for almost 10 years. The developer at first sought to build additional apartments on top of the existing structure, but during the 2007 economic downturn decided to essentially preserve and maintain the existing structure. The third structure structure from the left, a 1970’s modernization was deemed contributing and was preserved in its modified form. This project is one of many success stories in a revitalized Downtown Charlottesville Mall. The project obtained preservation tax credits.
